The MSYD-ASRA Altındağ Community Center carried out activities on “Mental Health and Its Significance” with refugees and asylum seekers in the context of the 10th Oct. World Mental Health Day. This year’s theme of the United Nation World Health Organization (WHO), “Youth People and Mental Health in Changing World”, was discussed and noted. After brief informing on the importance of this special day and mental health treatment, interactive activities were realized with women. Women who participated in the event have introduced themselves to each other briefly such as the name, nationality, age, marital status, her favorite music and food. They then tested their knowledge of each other and thus strengthened their social ties. The participants, who had fun moments with the activity of empathizing with imitation movement, proved that we were able to find ways to move together and overcome problems, and expressed their special messages through the wish tree. MSYD-ASRA gives services on psychological and psycho-social support and contribute to social cohesion process for refugees and Asylum-seekers who was forced to leave the country and seek refuge in Turkey.
